Welcome to Snowdon - Kindergarten

Welcome to Snowdon - Kindergarten

Snowdon is the Kindergarten Class here at Fosse Bank. In Kindergarten we learn through play and experiences.

We follow the Early Years Foundation stage and ensure that each child has the opportunity to move forward in all areas of learning. Activities are provided to support  children’s interests and to ensure they meet their next steps.

Autumn Term 2017

We welcome new friends to Kindergarten in September. Our focus is ‘Wonderful Me’. We talk about our bodies, our families, our senses and our emotions. During the second half of the term we look at Traditional Stories and Christmas.

If the children have particular interests we will support their learning with resources and activities that are linked to these interests and so help each child move forward in all areas of learning.

Spring Term 2018

In the Spring term we enjoy number songs as a focus. This encourages our enjoyment of singing and help us with our mathematics knowledge. We use puppets, visual props and act out the songs with masks.

After half term we focus on growing; planting, learning songs, painting pictures, sharing stories, observing our environment and many more activities that help us to move forward in our learning.

Mother’s Day and Easter is celebrated. We end the term with a whole school Easter egg hunt.
