Welcome to Year 3. This is an exciting year for the children as they leave the Infant classes for the Juniors. They learn to become more independent and begin playing sports fixtures against other schools.
In Matterhorn class we use innovative and exciting strategies to become independent learners….
Here we are working in groups during a science lesson. We were investigating friction and working out which surfaces cause the least friction(or the most!) by rolling a toy car down different surfaces.
This is Year 3 doing a maths investigation – we are investigating which numbers can be spilt into thirds and quarters using cubes.
During another investigation we were looking at shapes (both 2D and 3D) around school.
In History we have been learning all about the Stone Age and each of the children presented their Stone Age homework to the rest of the class.
The children showed great confidence during their presentations.
