Coronavirus Updates

Dear Parents

Coronavirus Update

I am writing to provide a further update about the school’s response to the coronavirus outbreak.  I would like to reassure parents that staff across the school are working together to ensure our response remains in line with government advice.

We have written a policy outlining relevant information about the coronavirus, together with answers to questions such as ‘what is the school doing’ and also explaining what the procedures would be should we have a suspected / confirmed case of the virus, or if we are advised by the Public Health England of the need to close the school.  Please see attached.

Further advice can be gained by visiting the Public Health England and NHS website:

Pupils should continue to come to school unless they have a continuous cough and/or a high temperature.  Any children who present with these symptoms whilst in school will be sent home.

We will continue to take advice from Public Health England and any action will depend on specific details of any individual cases, meaning that it is not possible to provide any definite information in advance.

All trips, events involving outside parents / visitors and clubs have been cancelled until the end of term.

In the event that the school is advised to close we have taken steps to ensure we still have provision to deliver daily education to our pupils.

We have set up ‘classrooms’ on Office 365 SharePoint which can be accessed via

Each child has been furnished with a login and password which has been attached to the inside cover of their reading record.  They have also been given printed instructions on how to gain access to this area.   These instructions are also attached along with this email.  We would ask that you please take a moment to check your child can log in from home before they actually need to and advise the School Office of any issues.

Teachers will upload work to the ‘classrooms’ and this can be emailed back to the teacher if required.  Instructions on how to do this using the children’s Office 365 account has also been included in the instructions.  There are also links to sites such as Active Learn Primary and

Please be advised that, to safeguard the children, the email addresses will only work with email addresses, so children cannot email outside the school.

We will continue to monitor all guidance issued in relation to the coronavirus and will update you further as more information becomes available.

Kind regards
