Public Consultation on our Draft Masterplan

Thank you for visiting the virtual public exhibition on Fosse Bank School and Stables Nursery’s emerging proposals to create a new centre of excellence for education for younger years, in Hildenborough.

Importantly, we also set out what we believe to be the compelling wider community benefits these plans will deliver for the whole Hildenborough community.

Fosse Bank School

Our facilities for the community

Fosse Bank School already works closely with a range of local community groups. Moreover, with our draft masterplan proposing to deliver a much needed step change in the quality and range of on-site facilities that we will have to offer as part of the new centre of educational excellence for younger years, we believe there also needs to be a corresponding step change in the local community’s access to them.

With our plans still at an early stage, we want to hear from you about how we could ensure that everyone living in the local community has an opportunity to mutually benefit from our proposed offer.

So, whether you are a parent, community group or indeed an individual local resident, we’d like to know how and when you would like to access our proposed new facilities.

To get in touch simply read the information on our offer, read our wider information banners and use the feedback form to have your say:

The Community Benefits

Swimming Facilities

Necessary improvements to the swimming pool will enable a better experience for both young and old.  These include the introduction of a new access for people with mobility issues and improved changing facilities.  This will allow us to offer the facilities to a wider community base. Our current swimming pool is already used by local schools and swimming clubs and we think these improvements could offer an alternative to driving to either Tonbridge or Sevenoaks for an extended range of community users and local residents.

Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) Court

An external multi-purpose 3-G sports court which will include:

  • Two tennis courts
  • Five a side football
  • Hockey
  • Basketball
  • Netball courts

This year-round sports surface will be available to the community; local sports clubs and charity events could be welcomed.

The New Assembly Sports Hall

The new multi-use assembly sports hall has been designed as the minimum size to meet Fosse School’s needs.  It has been designed to have a separate community access point from the school car park.

Within the main open plan hall, we are beginning conversations with local educational institutions to hold joint events for both Drama, Music, Sport and of course younger year community talks. There will also be flexible independent teaching spaces, which will function as classrooms and meeting rooms alongside.

In addition, the new hall will be offered to the community for a range of group meetings with the benefit of safe and secure offroad parking.

Sport wise, the flexible space will accommodate a range of opportunities including Badminton, basketball, netball, indoor softball and gymnasium functions for all community age groups.

Community Café

We have received many comments on whether there would be the option for a café to be located on site.  This would provide opportunities to parents, children and the wider community to take advantage of the School’s facilities and seek to provide a neighbourly atmosphere.

This is not currently included as part of the proposals, however we will review this before any plans are submitted if people support the idea of a community café.

Cooking Lessons

The education facilities will include a kitchen area to serve the expanded pupil numbers.  We are looking at providing an opportunity for these kitchens to have a dual purpose for local cooking clubs outside school hours.
